⛳️ Slow Start For Scottie

🏀 Giannis Trouble?

⚾️ An Unfortunate Retirement

Let’s jump right in.

Slow Start For Scottie

Scottie Scheffler started the Tour Championship with a 10-stroke lead.

It’s already gone.

Collin Morikawa who started 9 strokes behind Scheffler had a great opening round of golf and went 9 under for a 61.

He’s not the only one who erased the deficit of strokes that Scheffler got.

Keegan Bradley shot a 63 and Viktor Hovland shot a 68 and they are all tied for the lead.

It’s not over for Scottie yet. He sits in 4th, just one spot behind Morikawa, Bradly, and Hovland, and can easily surpass them if he gets hot.

NFL News

Anthony Richardson

The Indianapolis Colts put their starting QB on display last night in a final preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

He's gotten mixed reviews so far.

He completed 6 of 17 passes for 78 yards and ran five times for 38 yards. He had some great displays of his athleticism, making some plays and avoiding sacks but he was also missing some easy throws. His main miss has been high throws and that’s not going to fly in the NFL as those types of throws cause interceptions.

Richardson also was taunting the Eagles bench with the Fly Eagle Fly gesture but I’m not sure he realizes it’s still the preseason. We do like the competitive nature though!

A Blow To The Broncos

Jerry Jeudy is Russell Wilson’s no.1 target but there’s one problem, he hasn’t played a full season for the Broncos since he was drafted.

That’s not going to change this year.

Jeudy was carted off the field on a joint practice against the LA Rams as he injured his hamstring. He’s going to miss several weeks and the Broncos are working to determine the severity of the injury.

Giannis Wants A Commitment Before Giving His

Giannis Antetokounmpo is eligible for a 3 year, roughly $180 million extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. With the supermax contracts and salary caps always increasing, it might make more sense for him to ink a deal in 2024.

The money ain’t the issue anyway. Giannis is more concerned with the organization having a championship-winning mentality. Here’s a quote from him.

"I would not be the best version of myself if I don't know that everybody's on the same page, everybody's going for a championship, everybody's going to sacrifice time away from their family like I do. And if I don't feel that, I'm not signing."

I know nothing about Milwaukee but I’m assuming Giannis is the best thing to happen in a very long time. I’d get yourself straight if you spend any time in Bucks’ building.

An Unfortunate Retirement

Stephen Strasburg, the no.1 draft pick in the MLB in 2009, the dude who brought the heat with a 100-plus mph fastball is retiring.

It’s a sad day for the 35-year-old pitcher as he had a career plagued with injuries.

When he was healthy, he was dominant. Unfortunately, Strasburg has only made 8 starts for the Washington Nationals since he helped the team win a World Series in 2019.

Strasburg was a three-time all-star, spent his whole career with the Nationals, has a World Series MVP, and was 113-62 a starter with a 3.24 ERA.

His official retirement announcement will be on Sep 9.

That’s all for today. You have permission to leave work early.

Enjoy them happy hours.

Cheers,
