That's an NFL Sunday for You!
Good Morning and happy Monday. We will dig into some of the news around the NFL games and then some other sports talk.
Let’s have a week.
NFL Sunday
Check out the scoreboard for all the games here and check out all the top highlights from week 9 here.
We’re going to cover some big moments here and skip the full analysis for each game.
🏈 The Chiefs’ offense didn’t overpower the Dolphins in Germany, but the Chiefs’ defense was the star of the show, scoring a TD and holding the Dolphins well below their total yard average of the year. Chiefs’ TE Travis Kelce became the all-time franchise leader in receiving yards yesterday.
🏈The Vikings had a wild comeback against the Falcons yesterday and it was led by Josh Dobbs, who just joined the team on Tuesday. Dobbs led the Vikings down the field for a 75-yard touchdown drive late in the 4th quarter to seal the deal. The Vikings stay alive just a week after losing Kirk Cousins.
🏈The Raiders cleaned house, firing their HC and GM and then interim head coach led them to a win over the New York Giants. Don’t think the Las Vegas Raiders are the real deal now, the Giants are just that bad. Also, Daniel Jones may have a torn ACL and he’ll be undergoing an MRI.
🏈C.J. Stroud is having one of the best rookie seasons by a QB ever. Stroud opened the season by throwing 192 passes without an INT..He’s been playing great this year and yesterday was no different. He completed 71.4% percent of his passes and set a rookie record for 470 passing yards and five touchdowns in a 39-37 win over the Tampa Bay Bucs.
🏈The Baltimore Ravens are in top form. They crushed the Seattle Seahawks 37-3 and it was more dominant than just the scoreboard. The Ravens outrushed Seattle 298-28 and possessed the ball for over 40 minutes. Rookie RB Keaton Mitchell got his first carries yesterday for the Ravens and rushed for 138 yards and 1 TD on 9 carries.
🏈The Eagles and Cowboys battled it out last night during the evening game and the Eagles narrowly escaped with a win, but wouldn’t escape without a few dudes getting banged up. Jalen Hurts was injured towards the end of the first half and then on the first drive of the third quarter, Hurts came out looking like nothing was wrong. He scrambled on some plays and finished the drive with a pinpoint pass to DeVonta Smith in the corner of the end zone for a 29-yard score and a 21-17 lead. The Eagles would hold on to win 28-23 after the Cowboys tried to make a late push. It appears that Jalen Hurts is okay, but the Eagles will likely lose TE Dallas Goedert to a fractured arm.
🏈 The Bengals are on a 4 game win streak after defeating the Buffalo Bills 24-18 last night. Joe Burrow has been looking better week after week as his calf injury is mostly a non-issue. Burrow threw for 348 yards and two TDs. Josh Allen threw for 258 and a TD for the Bills but also threw an INT.
