Spain Captures First World Cup
Good Morning! You know we like you to enjoy your weekends so we’re going for another speedy Sunday. We’re talking some footy, basketball and golf and we might have a little bonus for you.
Let’s jump right in.
Spain Wins First World Cup
Spain defeated England 1-0 in the Women’s World Cup. It was both team’s first WC Finals appearance but Spain deserved the win as they controlled the first half and created scoring chances the entire match. England’s goalkeeper Mary Earps kept the club in the match with some great saves including a 70th minute PK save.
Olga Carmano scored the lone goal in the Match for Spain in the 29th minute.
Inter Miami Wins Leagues Cup
Lionel Messi scored another goal in his 7th MLS match and that gives him his 10th goal in the MLS. Inter Miami defeated Nashville FC in the Leagues Cup title match. Inter Miami is in last place in the Eastern Conference and regular season play is resuming today. Miami may be in last place but Vegas is feeling the Messi effect as Miami has the 4th lowest odds to win the MLS Cup this year at +800
NBA Investigating James Harden
James Harden made some comments about 76ers owner Daryl Morey while Harden was in China on tour. Harden said that Morey is a liar and he will never be part of an organization that Morey is a part of.
Well now the NBA is investigating the comments made by Harden and they are trying to determine if Harden is planning to hold out this year, which would be a contract violation, or if there was an attempt by the Sixers to circumvent the salary cap when Harden reworked his contract and took less money.
PGA Tour BMW Championship
We’ve arrived at the final round of the BMW Championship where only the top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings will advance to the Tour Championship.
We’ve got a star-packed leaderboard and Sunday is primed for some action on the golf course.
Matthew Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler share the lead at 11 under. Brian Harman is in 3rd at 10 under, Max Homa sits in 4th at 9 under, and Rory and Viktor Hovland share 5th place at 8 under.
Fitzpatrick and Scheffler will be the final pairing and will tee off at 1:50 pm ET. You can catch the coverage on the Golf Channel from Noon- 2 pm ET and switch over to CBS at 2 pm ET.
MLB Bonus
We’ve got two cool stories of guys being dudes in the MLB. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez is killing it for the Seattle Mariners right now. He’s got 17 hits in his last 4 games. We’ll spell it out so you know it’s not a mistake… Seventeen hits! He’s also scored 5 runs, has 8 RBIs, stolen 5 bases, and has hit 2 home runs over the 4 game span.
Julio Rodríguez sets a major league record with his 17th hit in his last four games! Ridiculous

Grand Slam x2
This is a wild set of circumstances. Luis Urias has never hit a grand slam in his career and he accomplished the feat on Thursday night against the Washington Nationals during his last at-bat. What’s wild is his next at-bat came against Yankees ace Gerrit Cole and on the first pitch with bases loaded, Urias hit another grand slam. Back-to-back grand slams for a dude who’s never hit one before…pretty dope.
