My stomach might be full but my eyes can't stop watching football
Happy Friday y’all. We hope you enjoyed all your food and all your football. Now you can sit on the couch and digest while you do some black Friday shopping and wait for some of the biggest college football games of the year because…..
It’s rivalry week!
Let’s do a quick recap of yesterday’s game, talk about Black Friday football, and then round out the day with college football rivalry games that are on today.
Let’s go.
NFL Week 12
Green Bay Packers (5-6) 29 | Detroit Lions (8-3) 22
⏩️ The Packers started off this game with a 53-yard completion to Christian Watson from Jordan Love and you probably thought “It’s just one pass”. Well, the Packers would score 4 plays after that and maintain control of the game pretty much through the entirety of play.
💦Either Jared Goff had sweaty hands or too much grease from cooking a turkey, either way, Goff fumbled the ball and lost it 3 times. Other than the bad fumbles, Goff would do his best to keep the Lions in this one. He would finish 29/44 for 332 yards and 2 touchdowns.
❤️ Jordan Love would finish 22/32 for 268 yards and 3 TDs for the Packers
Washington Commanders (4-8) 10 | Dallas Cowboys (8-3) 45
🤠 The Cowboys are a really good football team when they are playing at home. They had 9 drives with the football yesterday and they scored on 6 of them. Dak Prescott was 22/32 for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns. He got good protection when he needed it and Tony Pollard had a decent day on the ground running for 79 yards and 1 TD on 13 carries.
🏃 DaRon Bland and this Dallas defense is truly something else. Dallas sacked Sam Howell 4 times and pressured him most of the day. Bland got another pick-six at the end of the game and now has an NFL record for most pick-sixes in a season with this being his 5th. Bland has more TD as a defensive player than some of the most talented receivers in the NFL, we’re talking more than DeVonta Smith, Davante Adams, and DeAndre Hopkins!
San Francisco 49ers (8-3) 31 | Seattle Seahawks (6-5) 13
👀 If you were just “closing your eyes” at halftime for a little breather, you didn’t miss much. The 49ers struck gold in the first half of last night’s game and went into halftime with a 21-point lead. Christian McCaffrey ran for 114 yards and 2 TDs on 19 carries last night.
👉️ The 49ers almost opened the door to a Seahawks comeback when Brock Purdy threw a pick-six to Jordyn Brooks. The Niners’ defense didn’t let that happen as they only 2 field goals the entire game and sacked Geno Smith 6 times.
Friday Football
The Miami Dolphins are doing some Thanksgiving travel as they make their way to New Jersey to face the New York Jets in a new Black Friday game.
📺️Gametime is 3 pm ET. Black Friday binge shopping on Amazon isn’t enough for Jeff Bezos… he wants to be present in your home. This game will be on PRIME video today.
💰️ The Dolphins are 9.5-point favorites and the O/U is 40.5
👀 The Jets are starting Tim Boyle at QB and the Dolphins will be without De’Von Achane. I don’t see much action coming from the Jets offense today but I think their defense will be looking to stop this high-powered Dolphins offense. I’ll take the Dolphins ATS and the under.
College Football Friday: Rivalry Weekend Edition
It’s the best time of year when you get to rivalry weekend in college football. Throw the records out because it doesn’t matter who is good and who is bad, it’s just 22 dudes on the field who came to rip someone’s head off. Today has 2 games that have playoff implications and these games are going to bring some juice.
A Battle In the Big 12
Texas Tech is going to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns tonight. While this game might not be as “important” as the Oklahoma vs Texas matchup earlier in the year, a matchup between Tech and UT is a big deal to Texans.
📺️ Game is 7:30 pm ET on ESPN
👀 All eyes are on Texas today as they’ve got the best win in college football but are sitting on the outside of the playoffs. If the Longhorns win tonight, they’ve got a spot in the Big 12 title game and a chance to keep their season alive.
💪 It sounds cliche but this game will be won or lost at the line of scrimmage. Texas has been a tough defense to run and has only given up 6 total rushing touchdowns this year. Texas Tech has been making their money on the run game this year as they’ve dealt with injuries at QB
👋 This could be the last game of this rivalry as Texas is leaving the Big 12 for the SEC and this matchup isn’t scheduled in the future.
💰️ Texas is the favorite by 13.5 points and the under is 52.5. I’ll take Texas and the under.
Civil War
The #15 Oregon State Beavers are traveling to Eugene to take on the #6 Oregon Ducks.
📺️ Game is 8:30 pm ET on FOX
👀If Oregon wins this game, the Ducks will clinch a spot in the Pac-12 championship for a rematch with Washington, who gave Oregon their only loss of the season this year. Oregon is #1 in total offense this year and the Oregon State Beavers are looking to make the upset today. The Oregon State’s defense is one of the better units in the Pac-12 but I’m not sure it will be enough today.
💰️ Oregon is the favorite by 14 points. the O/U is 62.5. I’ll take Oregon with the points today
That’s all for today. Enjoy your shopping, but most importantly, enjoy your leftovers!
