🏀 Coach Fired

🏒 Big Names with Big Numbers

🏈 The Ugly Part of the NFL Offseason

⛳️ PGA on the Move

Let’s get to it.

Atlanta Hawks Fire Coach

The Hawks fired coach Nate McMillan on Tuesday. He’s been the coach since the middle of the 2020-21 season and the move is a bit surpising as the team currently sits in position to make the post season. Apparently McMillan was not meeting expectations and The Hawks new head coach search will be looking for someone who can develop players, create accountability and create a top 10 offense and defense.

Big Numbers in the NHL

Edmonton Oilers’ center Connor McDavid is the 5th fastest player to reach 800 career points in the NHL. He did it 545 games. Wayne Gretzky aka The Great One accomplished this in 352 games, while also playing for the oilers. What’s cool about McDavid picking up this 800th point? The assist he recorded was on a goal for Leon Draisaitl’s 700th career point. Pretty neat all around.

While McDavid is hitting milestones, Ryan O’Reilly is putting up hatricks. Four days ago we talked about a trade between the St. Louis Blues and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The trade is already paying off for the Maple Leafs as O’Reilly recorded a hatrick in last nights’ 6-3 win at Buffalo. Check it out.

Ugly Part of NFL Offseason

While some players are on vacation with family or playing golf, other players are waiting for post season surgeries so they can get started on recovery for next season. For some players, like San Francisco 49ers QB, Brock Purdy, surgery isn’t an option yet.

Purdy suffered a damaged UCL in his elbow during the NFC Championship game. He is awaiting surgery but the swelling in his elbow is delaying the procedure. This is altering his recovery time and his return window. He was expected to be back over the summer, during training camp to compete with Trey Lance but that seems unlikely now. The updated timeline has Purdy missing camp and likely won’t return until the regular season starts. We’ll keep you updated as we get more info.

PGA Tour is on the Move

The PGA Tour just finished the west coast circuit with tournaments being played in Hawaii, Arizona, and California. The Tour moves over to the east coast with tournaments being played in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic in the coming weeks.

This week’s tournament is the Honda Classic, taking place at the PGA National Members Club Championship Course in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Tune into The Golf Channel on Thursday and Friday to catch the action.

Oh and if golf wasn’t hard enough. These guys need to watch out for the nightmare fuel all weekend.

Enjoy your Wednesday!
