Texas Rangers Roundhouse Kick The Diamondbacks

Happy Hump Day. It appears the Texas Rangers will use their Wednesday to try to get over the hump and bring home a World Series Title.

It’s also time to pack your bags. The NFL trade deadline ended yesterday and that means players are off to new destinations.

Let’s unpack everything in the sports world and then let’s get some breakfast (or skip breakfast if you ate too much candy last night).

World Series Game 4 (Texas Leads 3-1)

Texas Rangers 11 | Arizona Diamondbacks 7

🤏 The Texas Rangers are so close to winning the World Series. They need to win this final game on the road, and they’ll bring home the first World Series Championship in franchise history. If they win tonight, they’ll be undefeated on the road this entire postseason.

🤯 D-Backs manager took out Joe Mantiply in the 2nd inning after he struck out a batter and then gave up a double. Miguel Castro came in and immediately gave up 3 runs. Kyle Nelson then came in and gave up a 2 run homer to Corey Seager. In the next inning, Nelson gave up some hits so Arizona brought in Luis Frias and he quickly gave up 5 runs! It was 10-0 really quick.

🧢 Arizona tried to put their rally caps and scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th after Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a 3-run homer. They would then score 2 more runs in the bottom of the 9th but ultimately came up short.

Game 5

📍Game 5 is the last of the games that will be played in Phoenix at Chase Field. If necessary, games 6 and 7 will be back in Texas.

 ❤️‍🩹 Max Scherzer and Adolis Garcia will both miss the remainder of the series for the Rangers.

⚾️ With Scherzer out, we’re practically at the top of the rotation for starting pitchers. Nathan Eovaldi is pitching for the Rangers and Zac Gallen is throwing for Arizona.

💰️ It’s -102 for the Rangers to win or -110 for the D-Backs to win. The O/U is 8.5 tonight.

NFL Trade Deadline

San Francisco 49ers

🏈 The 49ers seem to have struck gold once again. The 49ers are getting defensive end Chase Young from Washington in exchange for a 3rd round pick. As if the 49ers D wasn’t already good enough with Fred Warner at LB and Nick Bosa at DE, now Young will line up opposite of Bosa.

Minnesota Vikings

🏈 The Vikings are looking to save their season after losing QB Kirk Cousins to a season-ending injury. The Vikings are getting QB Josh Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals for a 2024 sixth-round pick.

Seattle Seahawks

🏈 The Seahawks strengthen a defense that has been playing pretty well this year as they got DE Leonard Williams from the Giants for a 2024 2nd-round pick and 2025 5th-rounder. It’s not a bad play for the Giants either as they can use some picks to rebuild over the next few years.

Chicago Bears

🏈If I knew everything about player personnel and the salary cap, I’d probably be working in the front office of an NFL team….. but I’m not! Everyone is giving the Bears 💩 for sending a 2nd round pick to Washington in exchange for Montez Sweat. Sweat’s contract expires at the end of the year and the Bears are expected to have the most cap room to spend on players, so maybe resigning Sweat is realistic. Who knows if the person you pick in the draft works out, take the sure bet if you can now.

Buffalo Bills

🏈The Bills added CB Rasul Douglas from Green Bay and they needed another CB to bolster an injured secondary. It’s a good thing for the Bills because they face some talented air raid teams the rest of the way. The Bills gave the Packers a 2024 third-round pick and that value seems a little high and has some people confused.

Detroit Lions

🏈The Lions got Michigan man Donovan People-Jones from the Cleveland Browns for a 2025 sixth-round pick. Peoples-Jones grew up in Detroit and played his college ball at the University of Michigan.

College Football Playoff Rankings

🏈The first College Football Playoff rankings for the 2023 season were released. Ohio State claimed the No. 1 spot, followed closely by Georgia at No. 2. Michigan is ranked No. 3. while Florida State and Washington round out the top five. Ohio State's strong schedule and notable wins contributed to their top ranking. Georgia and Michigan face tougher opponents ahead, potentially impacting their standings. Washington has had some recent struggles so they’ll need to show up in the rest of their regular season games and the Pac-12 championship to prove themselves.

What Happened To The Colorado Football Team?

There’s more to unpack with that question but let’s cut to the chase. While the Colorado football team stole some wins early in the season, they’re the ones who got robbed last weekend.

🌹 During the Colorado @ UCLA game at the Rose Bowl several players had their personal belongings like jewelry and other valuables, stolen from their locker room

👮 The incident prompted an investigation by both the Pasadena and UCLA police departments. The Pasadena Police Department received a report of "grand theft" shortly after the game.

💲Coach Deion Sanders discussed with the media that they provide players with guidance in dealing with their NIL money and teach them to be responsible. They help get the players financial planners but Coach Sanders mentioned the staff failed to discuss insurance policies for their belongings. He’s looking for his players to get fully reimbursed.

🔈️Sanders said “This is the Rose Bowl. They say the Granddaddy of them all, right? I’m sure Granddaddy has some money.”
