⚽️ US Women’s Win
🏀 Injury Update
🏀 Lakers in the Playoffs?
🎬️ Netflix is at it Again
Here we go.
US Women’s National Team Wins
The U.S. Women’s National Team won it’s 6th SheBelieves Cup in a 2-1 win over Brazil on Wednesday. The SheBelieves Cup is a 4 team invitational tournament that includes the best women soccer teams in the world. Alex Morgan and Mallory Swanson both scored for the U.S.
The USWNT’s next tournament will be the World Cup in July. The World Cup is being hosted by New Zealand.
NBA Injury Update
The Phoenix Suns are expecting their newest addition to the team to return to the court soon. Kevin Durant, who was traded to the Suns at the deadline is targeting a return for March 1.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was able to do some non-contact shooting yesterday. He is rehabbing a lower leg injury and doesn’t have an estimated return date. The defending NBA Champs are at jeopardy of missing playoffs if the current standings remain and a Curry return would be huge.
Speaking of Playoffs
Los Angeles Lakers' coach Darvin Ham wants to avoid the play-in tournament and would like to secure a playoff spot. I know these things need to be said to the media, but… were the Lakers not playing for a playoff spot all season?
The Lakers have 23 games left and the next 7 will have serious playoff implications as they are all against Western Conference teams who are currently in front of the Lakers in the standings.
Netflix is at it Again
Netflix recently released it’s newest sports documentary, Full Swing. The 8 episode series covers the life of pro golfers at home and at events. It’s been a big hit so far.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I guess Netflix understands that as they announced a new docu-series called “NFL: Quarterback”. It’s set to premier this summer and it’s following Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota. These might not be flashiest QBs but I sure hope this is a good one to watch. Either way, it should scratch that football itch we all get when we can smell football in the air.
Thanks for reading and have a great Thursday.
