Weekend Recap

Happy Monday, hope you’re enjoying the extra day off!

We’re going to recap a few events from the weekend and keep it short and sweet. Here we go.

⛳️John Rahm World #1

John Rahm was sitting at the top of the leaderboard going into Sunday’s final round at the Genesis Invitational. He was able to hold off other golfers trying to surpass him and finished with a win, making this the 3rd win of the season. With this W, he was able to regain his ranking as the #1 player in the world.

🏈XFL Kicked Off

The XFL kicked off this weekend and we’re not sure if it’s considered a success yet. There were some highlight plays as you could expect but attendance was down 30% from the previous XFL season opener that took place in 2020. We don’t have TV ratings yet and will fill you in when we get them.

🏈Rex Ryan Heading Back to the Sideline?

Rex Ryan interviewed for the Denver Broncos DC job over the weekend. Ryan has led top tier defenses in previous stints as DC for the Baltimore Ravens and head coach of the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. In his first few weeks of becoming head coach, Sean Payton is trying to put together an All-Pro coaching staff in Denver to redeem the Bronco’s dreadful 2022 season.

🏀 NBA All-Star Weekend

There were quite a few events over the weekend and lots of winners. Here’s a list.

Dunk Contest Winner: Mac McClung

Skills Challenge Winner: Team Jazz

3pt Shooting Competition Winner: Damian Lillard

All-Star Game Winner: Team Giannis defeated Team LeBron 184-175. Team Giannis got help from Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum who scored 55 points in the game including 10 3-pointers and secured the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP Award.

Looking for some highlight from the game? Here are the best dunks from last night.

And here’s a bonus from media day. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards says exactly what us fans are thinking.

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend!
