Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?

Good Morning… I think.

It doesn’t matter what side of the bed you woke up on, every morning we still get an upset!

That’s right, we’ve got another upset in College Basketball and likely an upset New York fan based after Jalen Brunson suffered an injury last night and Kyrie went off on a return to BK. Let’s dig through some scores in the NCAA, NBA, and NHL before we spend the next couple of days on Golf and Football, as we’ve got two big events happening in two different deserts. It might actually be the same desert, but not totally sure.

NBA Stats and Scores

🏀 Kyrie Irving shines in a return to Brooklyn for matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the Brooklyn Nets. The Mavs won 119-107 with help from Kyrie Irving, who had a game-high 36 points. Luka Doncic also poured in 35 points, had 19 rebounds, and was 1 assist short of a triple-double. I’m sure Brooklyn fans wanted to win this after a tumultuous few years with Kyrie, but have no fear, everyone; Kyrie is at peace now.

🏀 The Phoenix Suns have finally arrived to the 2023-2024 season. Get the Suns on the court with a healthy roster and they can do some things, who would’ve guessed! The Suns took down the Milwaukee Bucks 114-106 and got 32 points from Devin Booker, 28 from KD, and 25 from Bradley Beal.

🏀 The Knicks continue to roll with a 123-113 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Donte DiVincenzo led the Knicks with 32 points, and the Knicks had five other double-digit scorers. Jalen Brunson was one of those double-digit scorers as he poured in 27 points and only hit 1 three on the night. Brunson left the game in the 4th after rolling his ankle. Hopefully, he has a speedy recovery because the Knicks need that dude.

NCAA Scores + Some Upsets

🏀 #3 North Carolina had a weird loss to Georgia Tech the other day. They were probably overlooking GT and looking forward to their big-time matchup against Duke. UNC dominated Duke and remained in the #3 spot in the rankings. UNC wasn’t punished for the loss to GT earlier in the week. But something weird happened last night. With no reason for overlooking an opponent, UNC fell to Clemson IN CHAPEL HILL for the 2nd time ever. Clemson got the 80-76 W with the help of 6’10” center PJ Hall, who scored 25 points and was 4-10 from 3-point land.

🏀 #1 UConn is on an 11-game win streak after defeating Butler 71-62 last night. Donovan Clingan had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and Cam Spencer had a team-high 20 points. The Huskies are pulling their sleds.

Other Scores

🏀 #5 Houston defeated Oklahoma State 79-63

🏀 #13 Baylor defeated #23 Texac Tech 79-73

🏀 #17 Kentucky put a whooping on Vanderbilt with a 109-77 win

🏀 Oklahoma upset #21 BYU, beating them 82-66

🏀 Nevada grabbed an upset on the road, beating #22 Utah State 77-63 on Utah State’s home court.

NHL News

🤏 The Edmonton Oilers came up just a bit short of an NHL win streak record. The Oilers had their win streak ended at 16 when they came up just short in Vegas against the Golden Knights in a 3-1 loss. The Pittsburgh Penguins hold the win streak record at 17 straight wins, which came during the 1992-93 season.

🏒 Elias Lindholm played 5 season with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team who drafted him in 2013. Lindholm spent the next 6.5 years with the Flames in Calgary and was just recently acquired by the Vancouver Canucks. Lindholm joined the Canucks on the ice for the first time last night against his first team, the Carolina Hurricanes. Lindholm scored two goals in his debut and helped the Canucks get a 3-2 win. Pretty good stuff!
