Women's World Cup

+ Let's Get This Blind Side Story Settled

Happy Wednesday. We’re all over the map today as we’ve got a little college football rankings for you, a World Cup Final is set, and we have a “family” dispute …. plus some more.

Women’s World Cup

You can’t draw it up any better. Australia, the host team of the Women’s World Cup started the World Cup with a key player being injured. They narrowly escaped Ireland, lose to Nigeria, and then put a beat down on Canada.

Australia then rolled past Denmark and went nil-nil with a talented French team where the Aussies won on PKs.

Australia had made it to the semifinals with a chance to make it to the finals and play for a World Cup on their home turf. That chance was ruined this morning as Australia fell to England 3-1. England scored a goal at the 36th minute and Australia’s star Sam Kerr would score the equalizer in the 63rd minute. England would put two more in the back of the net in the 71st and 86th minutes.

England will face Spain in the World Cup Final on Saturday morning at 6 am. ET It will be live on FOX.

This will be the first World Cup Performance for both England and Spain.

Michael Oher vs. The Tuohys

If you read yesterday’s edition, you’re up to speed on the Michael Oher Blind Side allegations. If you don’t know what’s going on, then go back and read yesterday’s post. We’ll give you a minute……

Ok, moving on.

The Tuohy family, who Oher alleges was just taking advantage and making money off of his name is claiming that Oher threatened to go public with his story if the Tuohy’s did not pay him $15 million. The Tuohys are saying this is just a shakedown.

It seems that Oher is saying he never got paid anything from The Blind Side movie. But it also seems like there is some evidence that Oher has been getting royalty checks but isn’t cashing them.

We need this to go to court! I mean that Johnny Depp, and Amber Heard court that seems to be live-streamed on Instagram so America can have its day. What’s the last good distraction that we’ve had? I can’t think of it!

This is simple, show us the checks, show us the adoption/conservatorship documents, and show us all the royalties that have been paid out by the movie!

Most importantly, let’s get this done before week 1.

Surprise Surprise

[Insert monotone reading voice]

Wow, Lionel Messi has done it again. He’s played in six games and has scored 9 goals for Inter Miami. Messi scored again last night to help Inter Miami win 4-1 over the Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami has reached the finals of the League Cup. (check out the goal below)

Inter Miami will face Nashville at 9 pm ET on Saturday in the Leagues Cup Final.

If we haven’t explained what the Leagues Cup is yet, it’s simply a mid-season competition between the MLS and the Mexican League and is a FIFA-like tournament.

A Surprise Starting QB

Anthony Richardson has been named the starting QB of the Indianapolis Colts for week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I think everyone including Richardson is pretty surprised. Head coach Shane Steichen made the announcement on Tuesday and said that Richardson has been progressing and has been showing good growth. He played one quarter in the preseason so far and was 7 for 12 for 67 yards and threw one INT.

Mostly everyone expected that Gardner Minshew would get the start for some games until Richardson was up to speed and ready to go for the NFL. Hopefully, Richardson is ready for the moment because the regular season is a lot different than one quarter in the preseason.

We’ll be back tomorrow to talk Thursday Night Football, Major League Baseball, and the PGA Tour’s BMW Championship.

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to share with your friends!
